Google has upgraded its Gemini Advanced subscribers to version 1.5 Pro-002 of its large language model (LLM), improving performance in mathematical problem-solving and complex conversational tasks.
The updated model offers greater accuracy in multi-step instructions and provides faster, more informative responses. The upgrade positions Google competitively against recent advancements from other AI developers, such as OpenAI’s latest o1-preview LLM.
Google’s Gemini LLM family includes four versions: Pro for Gemini Advanced subscribers, Flash for free-tier users, Nano for on-device processing, and Ultra for complex tasks. The Pro version, now updated to 1.5 Pro-002, remains exclusive to subscribers.
This upgrade highlights Google’s efforts to refine its AI capabilities in a highly competitive landscape, with rivals like Microsoft and OpenAI continuing to advance their own AI technologies.
